(CONFERENCE OF PARLIAMENTARY COMMITTEES FOR UNION AFFAIRS)
Since its establishment in 1989 in Madrid, the COSAC (Conference of parliamentary Committees for Union Affairs) brings together the European Union Affairs Committees of the national Parliaments and the Constitutional Committee of the European Parliament. The Cortes Generales is represented in the COSAC by a delegation of MPs pertaining to the Joint EU Affairs Committee.
A meeting of COSAC Chairpersons is held every semester, and it is attended by two parliamentarians per each national Parliament, with the objective of preparing for the COSAC plenary meeting, at which each national Parliament will be represented by six parliamentarians.
The LXX COSAC Plenary Meeting to be held in Madrid from November 26 to 28, 2023, will bring together national and European parliamentarians to discuss major European affairs and the role of national Parliaments within the EU.
